Training for vacation.

I felt badly that I didn’t keep up tri training on vacation.

But why do we train for triathlon? Isn’t the fitness so that we can enjoy the rest of our lives? Such as the times we are on vacation?

The fitness offers us a boost, another reason for travel, strength, and confidence as we go about our days at home and when away.

It’s enjoyable to be in the present and enjoy an active vacation. And it will be enjoyable to return to the daily grind, when exercise gets put into short bursts, aided by having a race on the horizon, rather than a slow drip of movement all day long.

When triathlon is a way of life, choosing only vacations that involve continuing to train, is a decision I’m not willing to make. Triathlon is a life compliment, not something I want to interfere with other fun.
