Should you have a packing list?

I met someone who travels often for work and discussed her multi-page packing list she has created.

I found myself scoffing at such overly obsessive organization.

Later, I realized that it was my jealousy doing the mocking because I really just wish I was so organized.

Not only does a packing list help to ensure you don’t forget things, it will save time that would be spent thinking through what you need to bring.

This is particularly true traveling for triathlon with many activities to think through. Clothes and gear for training, and then for racing. Gadgets and creams and nutrition throughout.

So, perhaps a list will be in my future. Do you have a packing list? Does the thought make you cringe a bit, or sound like a good idea?
