Early in the pandemic, I found myself wondering who was taking care of certain things. Who was ensuring that low-income and homeless residents had masks and hand sanitizer? This was one of the questions I wondered.
Then I realized that I cannot know or take care of everything.
This response can be devastating. Think of the studies where someone called for help, and when the streets were busier, bystanders were less likely to help – presumably figuring someone else would do it.
But it also has its truth to it.
There are times to take action, and times not to worry.
If someone is supposed to take care of something, why not give them the benefit of the doubt that they will? Some people do, others will always think negatively or always pick a fight. Which type of person are you and how do you feel about it?
