Some people take a day off per week from all exercise, or incorporating something more restorative like yoga. Others do not. I think (and have read that others agree) that it is personal preference. I have tried both ways and find that I prefer to plan on some exercise every day. With that said, I keep one day (Mondays now) lighter – with just a swim and a stretch. Also, I know that some days will just become rest days on occasion when life doesn’t allow for a workout for some reason or another.
But if your body or mind needs (or just does better) with that day off; it is important to take it!!
