Work/rest cycles in triathlon and in life.

Sometimes minds take a break just like our bodies need a break.

Just as we train in blocks with scheduled recovery periods, I think our minds work that same way sometimes. Some weeks may naturally be more creative or intellectual than others.

Do you allow your body time for sufficient rest in between work? Do you allow you mind the same type of rest?

Perhaps these are cycles run in reverse? If you are training your body really hard, perhaps your mind needs more of a break, ready to pick up again when your body gets a little rest.
