I recently listened to this 2015 podcast with Amanda Palmer, a music artist.
I was struck by her decisions early in her career when deciding how mainstream/popular to become…following the big labels etc, vs. her choice to go solo and do her own thing.
At least now, she reflects on the decision as a set of decisions about what would lead to the happiest life.
I know I tend to get sucked up into making decisions that I feel are ‘right’ or more likely to lead to outward success, rather than truly considering what’s the happiest path. Which life road would lead to a happier life both in the day-to-day and in the long-term. What does happy even mean to me?
Do you take it into account? How are you thinking about your happy life?
