We take the easy route. We look for short cuts. And we fail to recognize when things around us change.

Our city is conducting construction this summer with constantly changing traffic patterns and people are regularly confused. Fortunately I haven’t seen an accident but I suspect most of us who have been in the area regularly have made mistakes.

Efficiency and routine are great. But every once in awhile we must take a step back to get an outsider’s look at what has become habit. Perhaps culture changed the direction signal and we have not yet caught on.
