When I was a kid, I learned that to make assumptions makes an ass out of you and me.
It was cute and funny as a kid, but I wonder if that lesson is not one of the most important in terms of how we interact with each other?
Being aware of our assumptions is a key first step. And where relevant we can then check our assumptions by asking someone if our assumption about them is true or not true. If we can do this with an open mind, I think it will open up doors for us, if we do it with a closed mind then we may be worse off.
