It seems that some people are more naturally competitive. I am not one of those people in most areas of my life, and it is easy to look around and to convince oneself that to be successful, however defined, requires competition.
I think it depends on you. For some, competition is what drives them each and every day. Without a drive to compete, they might sit in front of the tv in PJs all day.
But on a societal level, often helping others is the way to go. In business, building your market will likely build demand for everyone. Often, having others in the area only helps rather than hurts. Of course, that doesn’t always happen – but probably much more often than we think.
Where are you competitive? Is it helping or hurting? What does your heart want to be doing? Does competition drive your heart or crush it?
