Pouring through boxes of photographs…I recognize that this will not be a ‘problem’ in the future because everything is digital now. Are we organized enough to save the digital pictures? Does it matter – how often do we go through pictures anyway? And which of these hard-copy pictures, still in their bags from the grocery store where we had them printed, should be kept?
Pictures remind us of a past life. A snapshot of time, or a trip that only remains as a brief outline in our mind can suddenly come to life.
I chose to keep a few photos as snapshots and trash the rest.
A balance between past and future that is different for each of us, but worth considering and organizing every so often. What I once kept, I now no longer want, and less stuff can feel freeing.
