Cycles of stuff.

As I age, I realize that ‘stuff’ has cycles.

The home feels newly painted…but after 7 years it needs touch-ups. It is no longer new and clean.

Those headphones that were the best I had ever had 5 years ago, which I haven’t used in many years, they are now outdated. Trash. No one would get value out of them at this point.

Adulting as a privileged American includes staying on top of these cycles of stuff, while also not accumulating too much. Maybe I don’t always need the next ‘new’ thing that will soon be outdated. Yet, it sure is fun to have it every once in awhile.

And….perhaps it’s time for me to touch up the paint job and do some deep cleaning.
