How do you respond to an abrupt change of plans?

Whether something little like someone canceling their visit for dinner, something medium like the person you hired canceling last minute, or something huge like a medical diagnosis that will change your life for the foreseeable future, I think we are rooted in a response pattern. Some get mad, some get down, and I’m sure there are numerous types of mixed responses, but I think we respond similarly within our own personal pattern no matter how big the roadblock.

And even though we have a natural pattern of how we personally will react I think we can change that pattern. I root for acknowledging the pain and then looking for the positive and what will happen next. But we likely all need to move through it at our own speed with her own mechanisms.
