Wasting time.

What does wasting time mean to you?

I recently heard (don’t recall where) the definition that wasting time is when you do not complete the task you set out to do because you ended up doing something else distracting, such as spending time on Facebook, looking through emails, etc. In other words – you turn to an unplanned activity that puts you in limbo between productivity and leisure.

Contrast that with spending time on Facebook when you plan to, or taking time off to watch a movie, spend time with friends, etc.

Sticking to the task takes discipline that we can probably all work on having more of.

I often feel that time was wasted when something takes longer than planned, but I need to remember that isn’t waste. That’s necessary, just unfortunate.
