How do we interact with people in similar businesses to ours?

If you have a service business, there are likely other businesses that are complimentary to yours, and you will be in the position as trusted advisor to refer people to those other businesses – and vice versa.

In my experience this leads to an interesting dance. How do I learn who the other trusted advisors are, and how to get a sense of who I truly would refer to?

It will pay off to be open to different options, and genuine in our referrals.
