Preparation.

When about to go into a situation we anticipate to be stressful, or maybe you anticipate that you could easily be less than your best self, we can take a moment to close our eyes and imagine the situation. Imagine what could happen that you would view negative. And imagine how you want to be in the situation. Feel what that feels like. Allow yourself to tell you how that will be, without judgment. Maybe your authentic self will show up in a way different than your intellectual self wants you to show up.

It is a way to prepare for a situation. Even if you don’t fully act the way you imagine in your best scenario, it at least brings awareness, and then have compassion for what actually happens.
